#MODIfyingIndia: The D Day – #TeamPMNaMo all set to take charge in few hours…
Even though Mr. Narendra Modi is yet to take charge of the India‘s Prime Ministers office, there are significant changes which are already visible very clearly.
- First major step by Mr. Narendra Modi, after receiving the letter of invitation from the President of India to form the new Government, was to invite all the Government Heads of neighboring South Asian countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldive, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka ) as well as some other friendly countries (Mauritius) for his Swearing-in ceremony on 26th May 2014. Its a part of old Indian tradition to invite not just the family members, but also neighbors whenever some events are organized at home. Happy events are supposed to be celebrated with all. There is a saying in India Happiness increases when it is shared, Sadness is greatly reduced when it is shared . Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the ancient Sanskrit mantra explains the whole world to be one single family, each individual may have their own worldview, quite often different from person to person, but it means respecting this difference. Contrary to a single window world view and superiority of a particular race, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam says that all Animals, Birds, Plants, Trees and other Organisms in the Earth’s ecosystem have similar soul (atma) they all are part of one big family, our family.
- The celebration of Swearing-in ceremony will be followed by a gala Dinner for the visiting dignitaries at the Rashtrapati Bhawan – the grand Viceroy Palace build by Britishers which is now serves as home for President of India. Tomorrow morning the new Prime Minister #PMNaMo will have short one-to-one meetings with all the Heads of states.
- Secondly, Mr. Narendra Modi has given clear indication that he is going to act on what he has been saying all through his election journey – Less Government and More Governance. Ministries are being reorganized in a logical manner to facilitate Good Governance, after a very long time. The number of ministers in Mr. Narendra Modi’s government is going to be much lesser than the previous one – its going to be almost half of what it is today. First time in the history of India close to to 25% of the minister will be females. There is also a marked difference in the way government is going to function – while during the last government formation 5 years back, Media/ journalist were working as middlemen trying to fix/ lobby for various government position – this time they are totally out of the ring – till this morning no-one in the media had any clue as to the number of Minister or who is going be appointed minister or which ministry is going to be headed by whom.
